Well, unless you are a person of influence in this community absolutely no one will listen to you. No one will even give you the courtesy of a “Thank you for your correspondence ” acknowledgement. Going back to May of 2012, I’ve written 11 times about the value of engaging in World Heritage Sites and Heritage Tourism. I’ve been unable to get anyone, and I do me no one, enthused to even send an email in support of the idea. Pretty sad when you consider that Buffalo, NY has exquisite Frank Lloyd Wright homes in the area and no one from the Mayor of Buffalo, the Erie County Executive, the local New York State Assemblyman and Senators, nor the local U.S. Congressional delegation. Toss in the local press, media, bloggers, etc. it becomes obvious these structures don’t fit local development goals. As a result seeking UNESCO World Heritage Site designation is not a priority or no one in this area has heard of UNESCO or a UNESCO World Heritage Sites. But have an owner look for help getting a facility for professional football or professional hockey, they will jump through hoops and shell out hundreds of millions of dollars before you can blink an eye.

It is such a shame that so many people of importance are so disinterested in advertising for free no less, these treasures. Borders on criminal neglect.
